Our Wireless Network
Cirrus owns and operates Australia's largest fixed wireless network with coverage in metropolitan and regional areas across New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria and South Australia. The network incorporates over 200 wireless transmission sites covering more than five million residents and businesses with more than 6000 wireless links under management.
Cirrus uses its network to provide a wide range of broadband Internet services, private networks, VoIP and hosting solutions to businesses, schools, student colleges, military bases, apartment blocks and residential customers alike.
As an independent operator Cirrus controls all aspects of its network and minimises its reliance on other telecommunications suppliers.
Cirrus' own network, principally based on Motorola's wireless technology, has both a metropolitan and regional footprint and offers services of up to 1Gbps. In the national market, however, no network stands alone: Cirrus works with other carriers to provide well rounded and powerful solutions.
The Cirrus network is a broadband 'last mile' network, in other words the network is able to deliver any broadband speed required at any location in its coverage generally regardless of any other constraint in that region
In summary, the core strengths of the network are:
- Its ability to transfer competitive pricing available in metropolitan data centres to remote or broadband constrained areas
- Its ability to deliver high bandwidth where organisations need it
- Its ability to connect multiple locations for organisations on a breakthrough economic basis
The Cirrus network carries high quality IP traffic. It is ideally suited for VoIP, video and other corporate data.
